Powers, PhD, PT, FACSM, FAPTA<br \/>\nDr. Powers is the founder and owner of the Movement Performance Institute in Los Angeles. In addition, he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biokinesiology &amp; Physical Therapy, and Co-Director of the Musculoskeletal Biomechanics Laboratory at the University of Southern California. Dr. Powers is recognized nationally and internationally for his research related to the biomechanical causes of lower extremity injury. More specifically, he is considered one of the world\u2019s leading authorities on knee injuries; in particular patellofemoral joint dysfunction and tears of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).<\/p>\n<p>**Movement Performance Institute (MPI)<br \/>\nThe basic philosophy behind MPI is human health and quality of life depends on the ability to move skillfully and efficiently. It is believed, movement dysfunction is the root cause of many overuse and sport related injuries of the musculoskeletal system. Through objective measurements of motion, forces\/pressures, muscle activation patterns and muscle performance, more effective intervention strategies can be designed and better long-term results achieved.<\/p>\n\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n<section class=\"av_tab_section\"  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" >    <div data-fake-id=\"#tab-id-2\" class=\"tab \"  itemprop=\"headline\" ><span class='tab_icon' aria-hidden='true' data-av_icon='\ue802' data-av_iconfont='fontello'><\/span>Training<\/div>\n    <div id=\"tab-id-2-container\" class=\"tab_content \">\n        <div class=\"tab_inner_content invers-color\"  itemprop=\"text\" >\n<h3>Injury Prevention Training<\/h3>\n<p>Injury Prevention training \u2013 follows a similar protocol to that established for return to sport.
